CPI is a wave tube manufacturing company. One of their most utilized tools is called the Document Viewer. This program is used for employees to view basic documents as well as 3-D drawings, schematics, and blue prints. The document viewers look and feel however, had become outdated.
I was tasked with the responsibility of updating the programs icons/ buttons to make them not only more modern but to also make them clear and understandable by a demographic of employees who had been with the company for 30 + years.
I worked with the lead software engineer to stylize the buttons with a minimalistic approach while also participating in a couple of test studies with the people who would ultimately be using these buttons.
